Pregnant Psychotropic Substance Abusers Supporting Scheme

The grantee aims at providing one-stop medical and supportive treatment and rehabilitation service to pre- and post-natal psychotropic substance abusers, their infants/toddlers and family members in Kowloon East so as to curb intergenerational drug abuse. The grantee will conduct home visit, drug testing and motivational casework counselling services.
Extension on the Pilot Scheme on short term treatment for drug addicts

This is a short-term residential programme for male drug abusers with six-month follow-up service. Approaches like positive psychology, solution-focus therapy, reality therapy and neurolinguistic programming will be adopted and integrated into the case work, experience sharing sessions and adventure-based activities for drug abusers.

Young psychotropic substance abusers will be provided with trainings on stage-art, stage image building, emotional control and support service like Chinese medicine and dietetic treatment so as to empower and rekindle their strengths to live a drug-free life.

Drug abusers aged from 18 to 30 living in the treatment centre of the grantee will be provided opportunities to receive career trainings on areas like information technology, design, health and beauty, and renovation and decoration. They will then choose one of the areas to develop a career path and receive more in-depth training.
The 7th Mainland, Hong Kong and Macau Conference on Prevention of Drug Abuse

This project will organise a conference in 2011 to promote cross-sectoral exchange and communication among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau on drug issues. Elements include conference, workshop and visit to anti-drug service organisations.

A Community Study of Uro-Psycho-Physical Changes in Young Adults Using Ketamine

Through the establishment of a mobile clinic run by professional health-care workers at specific youth centres, the relative risk of dosage, frequency and duration of ketamine abuse for changes in body system functions, and the extensiveness of damage caused in community young adults will be studied.
The Detrimental Effects of Long Term Ketamine with Alcohol Abuses in Mice and Its Use in an Educational Program

Through the setup of a long-term abuse model in mice, the detrimental effects of long-term uses of ketamine and alcohol on internal organs will be studied. Educational programmes based on research result will be offered to youngsters.
Clinical Profile of Lower Urinary Tract Changes and Urinary Marker Measurements in Young Adults using Ketamine

The study aims to determine the relative risk of dosage, frequency of ingestion and duration of ketamine use for changes in lower urinary tract function. The utility of urinary markers to correlate with the degree of bladder damages is also evaluated.
Beat Drugs Alliance

Training will be provided to rehabilitated drug abusers and they will be engaged as counsellors to run an anti-drug website which will provide drug and rehabilitation service information with experience sharing in discussion forum and through emails. The website will identify hidden drug abusers and intervention will be given by social workers and peer counsellors to enhance their motivation to quit drugs.
