Project of “Marvellous Trip for Resisting Drugs” – Professional Integrated Training Course

Structured anti-drug training programme will be provided to the target groups of social workers, and stakeholders in religious and community setting. The trainings will equip the participants with the knowledge and skills for effective interaction with the at-risk youths in order to identify drug abusers early and provide appropriate counselling and support to them.
Prospective Longitudinal Study on the Treatment Outcomes of Various Treatment Modalities under a Standardized Treatment Protocol in Patients Suffered Ketamine-induced Voiding Dysfunction

Patients will receive medical treatment according to a standardized treatment protocol which is based on literature and clinical experience. The treatment response will be documented throughout the course of treatment. The data will be collected and analyzed to evaluate the treatment response of different treatment modalities in the management of ketamine-induced voiding dysfunction. Potential enhancing and impeding factors for treatment response will also be identified for planning of treatment in future.
Crisis Accommodation for Hidden Young Ketamine Abusers – A Bridge between Treatment and Rehabilitation

The project sets up a specialist-led multi-disciplinary assessment and rehabilitation centre for providing a short-term accommodation in hospital to youth with history of ketamine abuse and support services for their families. There will be intervention by medical and social work professionals during the short-term accommodation. Detailed assessment and intensive psycho-social services would be provided with a view to enhancing the treatment outcomes.

Change in Cognitive Function and Biomarkers of Neurotoxicity Following Abstinence of Ketamine: A Prospective Longitudinal Study

The patterns of change in cognitive function and neurotoxical biomarkers in blood sample following abstinence from ketamine will be established in this project. Correlations between these changes will also be explored. The findings of the study will provide useful information about the reversibility of cognitive deficits caused by ketamine abuse.
A Healthy Harmonious and Caring Campus – Start with Appreciation

Thirty schools in Kwun Tong District will provide different anti-drug activities to students and parents, including training seminars for helping students develop critical thinking towards drug abuse issues and parent and teacher anti-drug training seminars. Intensive coaching and case work will also be offered to high-risk students who have dropped out from schools.
CHOICE – A Participative Beat Drugs Life Stories Development Campaign with Motion Comics

Anti-drug story writing contest will be organised and the best entries will be made into motion comics, which will be broadcast on the Internet and smartphone platform. A resource kit for interactive classroom teaching will also be produced.

To raise students' awareness about the harm of drugs, a series of activities will be held including development of school-based personal growth curriculum, anti-drug student ambassador training, video and poster design competitions, Drug InfoCentre visits and parent talks to convey anti-drug messages.

A variety of activities will be provided to students to raise their anti-drug attitude, including drug treatment and rehabilitation centre visits, news cutting activities, parent-child anti-drug activities and camps as well as sharing by reformed youths.
Peer Education on Prevention of Youth Drug Abuse

A team of health care practitioners and human service professionals will be formed to guide the production of a drug prevention training kit for Red Cross members and peer-educators. Peer-educators will then deliver various activities to spread anti-drug messages in schools and community.
