This project aims at facilitating drug parents’ motivation to quit drugs and enhancing parenting competence so as to achieve the ultimate goal of social reintegration and relapse prevention. Project elements include anti-drug sharing sessions in schools, online dissemination of anti-drug videos for general public, support programme for family members of drug abusers, volunteer services by rehabilitated drug abusers and publication of story books for general public, schools and organisations.

This project aims at providing structured vocational training to residents of Shek Kwu Chau Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre to enhance their employability and facilitate their re-integration into the community. Project elements include career counselling groups, individual employment guidance and job matching, vocational training courses on plumbing and pipefitting, painting and decoration, joinery and mandatory Basic Safety Training (MBST) course for rehabilitees, aftercare counselling and job matching for post-discharged rehabilitees and community service for secondary schools/NGOs.

Project CONNECT - Community Outreach Navigation for Non-Ethnic Chinese (Territory-Wide)

This project aims at raising the anti-drug awareness among ethnic minority communities and reaching out high-risk ethnic minority individuals and families for early identification and referral of drug abusers. Project elements include anti-drug awareness workshops, professional training and sharing session for community stakeholders including ethnic minority individuals, social workers and frontline workers, guided tours to rehabilitation facilities for community stakeholders including ethnic minority individuals, social workers and medical professionals, physical and online outreaching services for high risk and drug dependent ethnic minority individuals, family-based intervention for family members of drug abusing ethnic minority individuals, drug treatment referral services for drug abusing ethnic minority individuals, vocational training for high-risk or drug dependent ethnic minority individuals and job placement programme for ethnic minority drug rehabilitees.

Chinese Medicine Treatment and Research Programme for Cocaine Users with Social and Crisis Intervention

This project aims at providing free Traditional Chinese Medical (TCM) treatment and counselling support to hidden drug abusers who take cocaine and other psychotropic drugs. Project elements include crisis intervention training for frontline workers or social workers, promotional activities for dissemination of cocaine prevention messages to general public and students, online or offline outreaching for drug abusers or family members of drug abusers, TCM outreaching services for high risk youths and drug abusers, TCM treatment and research for cocaine users, TCM treatment and research for drug abusers who use other drugs other than cocaine, art work / emotional management groups, debt management and stress management talks for drug abusers and family members of drug abusers.

Project P.R.I.D.E.— Drug Prevention and Rehabilitation for Sexual Diversities

This project aims at providing targeted prevention education and treatment services for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community including their family members and enhancing the capability of frontline workers in working with the LGBT youths and their families. Project elements include training workshops for social workers, social media post at Instagram and Facebook, production and dissemination of educational videos, online outreaching services, HIV test outreach, counselling services for high-risk/drug-taking LGBT youths and their parents, anti-drug training and resilience-enhancing groups for LGBT youths, and support groups for chem-fun users.

Art without Weed – Drug Prevention and Education Scheme

This project aims at raising anti-drug awareness and knowledge on the harms of cannabis among high-risk individuals and those who are connected to Hip Hop culture, and providing counselling and referral services for drug abusers. Project elements included street dance choreography workshop to recruit tertiary students from dancing society or other tertiary students, anti-drug education workshop for high-risk youths, anti-drug workshop for parents, production of nano-movies for online dissemination to general public and online and offline anti-drug midnight workshop for high-risk youths.

“Starfish” Integrative Aftercare and Outreach Project 2.0

This project aims at enhancing the ability and employment readiness of drug rehabilitees/drug abusers, improving family members’ ability to support drug rehabilitees/drug abusers and increasing public acceptance of drug rehabilitees and drug treatment facilities. Project elements include assessment and consultation by psychiatric nurse for drug rehabilitees, rehabilitated drug abusers and their family members, life planning/career counselling, wealth management workshops, health groups, interest groups and vocational training/qualification enhancement for drug rehabilitees and rehabilitated drug abusers, family support workshops for family members of drug rehabilitees and rehabilitated drug abusers, volunteer training and volunteer support groups for rehabilitated drug abusers and community members, support groups for rehabilitated drug abusers, aftercare support for rehabilitated drug abusers.

Peer-led Personalized Support Program to Help Young Drug Abusers Quit Drugs through the Use of Instant Messaging Applications and Self-Determination Theory-Based Intervention

This project aims at launching a peer-led personalised support program with instant messaging system for young drug abusers aged 35 or below. Project elements include (i) Publicity phase: collaborate with secondary and tertiary schools, youth organisations and high-pressure industries to promote the quit drugs hotline cum instant messaging system, (ii) Training phase: training 80 undergraduate and master degree students from the medical school and nursing department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) to become telephone peer supporters. Two structural training programmes covering topics on epidemiological trends of drug abuse, basic concepts in drug addiction, psychological characteristics of addictions, using instant messaging applications and a self-determination theory approach to provide personalised support, addictive treatment and rehabilitation services in Hong Kong and referral skills; and (iii) Implementation phase: The peer-led personalised support program with 12 months follow-up service cum hotline system will be launched for drug abusers or ex-drug abusers aged 35 or below.

This project aims at strengthening the anti-drug awareness of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) sex workers. Project elements include online and physical Outreach to LGBTQ sex workers, professional counselling to drug abusing LGBTQ sex workers, and volunteer training for general public.
