Outstanding Projects in the 2018/19 School Year
The Narcotics Division has launched the “Beat Drugs with Sports” Programme (formerly known as “Participate in Sports, Stay Away from Drugs” Programme) from the 2017/18 school year. The Programme aims to promote healthy lifestyles and an anti-drug culture in secondary schools through students’ participation in the organisation of sports-related and/or health-related activities, and in supporting student athletes taking part in sports competitions. In view of the positive feedback received, the Programme continued in the 2018/19 school year.
The Programme in the 2018/19 school year has received encouraging responses, with 132 secondary schools participating in the Programme. All activities were completed by August 2019.
With strong creativity, students of the participating schools designed, organised and implemented a wide variety of activities. Students’ awareness of drugs and their harms has been enhanced effectively, while students’ participation in sports has also been promoted.
